Der erste Band aus der Potter-Reihe ist ein guter Einstieg in die Serie, sowohl von der Sprache her, als auch vom Umfang des Buches. Ich sagte mir bereits als der zweite Band damals rauskam, dass ich warte bis alle 7 Bücher auf dem Markt sind, und dann werden sie alle am Stück gelesen und dann auf Englisch. Tja, ich weiß gar nicht, wie ich es geschafft habe, so lange zu warten, jetzt wo ich die Bücher kenne.
Auf englisch sind die Bücher jedem zu empfehlen, der Originale liebt und noch ein recht ordentliches Englisch drauf hat. Wenn man mal bei Hagrid's wüstem Slang ins straucheln kommt, ist das wohl für niemanden dramatisch.
Gerade diese Edition mit den Erwachsenen-Cover macht die Potter-Serie zu einem Schmuckstück in der privaten Bibliothek.

Ich muss sagen das Buch ist wunderbar gelungen. Ich habe vorher keinen Teil von Harry Potter gesehen oder auch gelesen. Da ich ein Englisches Buch lesen wollte habe ich mich für Harry Potter entschieden. Trotz meiner nicht so brillianten Englischkünste hatte ich keine großen Probleme das Buch zu lesen, auch wenn das ein oder andere Vokabel nicht in meinem Kopf war, der Zusammenhang ging nicht verloren ( Wörterbuch hat auch manchmal geholfen ).
Allerdings Hagrids "Slang" ist wirklich sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Der 2te Band ist bereits bestellt.

Als die junge Mutter Joanne Kathleen Rowling vor zehn Jahren, 1997, mit "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone" den ersten Band um ihren jugendlichen Zauberschüler veröffentlichte, begann nicht nur für sie, sondern auch für Millionen Leser eine zauberhafte Reise. In den USA wurde dieses erste Schuljahr von Harry Potter ein Jahr später unter dem Titel "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone" veröffentlicht.
Spannend und einfühlsam führt J. K. Rowling ihren Leser an die zumindest zu Beginn sehr tragische Figur des Harry Potter heran, der bei seinen ungeliebten Verwandten leben und mit ihnen zurechtkommen muss und stets versucht, das Beste aus seiner Situation zu machen. Rätselhafte und scheinbar unerklärliche Ereignisse prägen den Anfang dieses unschuldigen Kinderbuches, bis die Autorin schließlich die Bombe platzen lässt und nicht nur Harry, sondern auch der Leser erstaunt und erfreut erfährt, dass ersterer ein Zauberer ist. Auch das Schuljahr auf Hogwarts gestaltet Joanne K. Rowling überaus ansprechend und liebevoll, entführt ihren Protagonisten in eine magische Welt, in der er schon bald Freunde aber auch Feinde findet, in der er von erfahrenen Professoren in die Künste der Zauberei eingeführt wird und in der er Stück für Stück dem Geheimnis seiner Vergangenheit auf die Spur kommt. Dabei streut die Autorin im gesamten Verlauf der bezaubernden Handlung zahlreiche Hinweise und Details aus, die sich schließlich zu einem runden und in sich überaus ... weiter

Also ich bin schon immer nicht gut in Englisch und hatte immer ne 4 in der Schule gehabt. Ich wollte dieses Buch lesen damit sich mein Englisch verbessert. Es ist ganz einfach. Klar dass man mal paar Wörter nach gucken muss, aber ich empfehle es für jeden die ihr Englisch auffrischen wollen. Einfach ein tolles Buch!!!

Natürlich ist Harry Potter ein muss für jeden Fantasy-Fan. Die deutsche ist super, die englische ist aber einfach noch vieeeel besser. Das ganze ist viel lustiger und teilweise noch übertriebener (besonders die Szenen mit Dudley).
Wer jetzt denkt: "Englisch und diese ganzen Zauberwörter sind schwer!", wird überrascht seinb, wie leicht es dann zu lesen ist. Auch bei Vokabeln, die man nicht versteht erschließt sich das Wort meistens aus dem Kontext. 3 Jahre Englisch sind genug.
